45th Reunion Highlights
Class of 1960’s 45th Reunion
With a rousing “How ya doing’,” Michael Incardone greeted the Class of
1960 at our 45th Reunion. We had over 100 attending the reunion held
at the Phoenix Airport Hilton on October 22, 2005. We were fortunate
to have as our guests the following counselors and teachers: Betty
Fairfax, Berneil Maxey Drake, Lucene Billing, Katherine Watson and
Norbert Konzal. Coach Sam Winningham was unable to attend but sent his
greetings to all from Northridge, CA.
All in attendance enjoyed the appetizer social, dinner, music, dancing
and conversation from 5 PM until midnight. DJ Harry Shapiro had us
slow and fast dancing, along with the stroll, twist and the Cha Cha.
Barry Kennedy gave a spirited speech thanking Terry Riley for his
years of leadership as the 1960 Class President and Webmaster, saying
that Terry has been the “glue” that has held us together. He then
presented to a surprised Terry Riley, a “Coyote” trophy for his
dedication to the Class of 1960.
Co-chairs were Karen (Deckelmeier) Chapman and Michael Incardone with
committee members of Cas Cusimano, Gus Meyers, Barry Kennedy and Terry
Riley. Karen also was the tour guide Saturday morning for a 3 hour bus
tour, of which the first stop was the Alumni Assn’s Tent Sale at our
PUHS campus.
Our 1960 foreign exchange student, Ledina Maria Marcarian flew in from
Brazil for the reunion. Classmates came from New York, Texas,
Colorado, Utah and California and other distant places to join us for
what many called the “Best One Yet”. Now, some are asking for a
gathering next year. It seems this reunion’s motto of “Old Coyotes
Never Die, They Fight On!” is true.
