Phoenix Union Quintet Sets Offensive, Defensive Marks

David Wright's sure hands reach for a rebound in the South contest.

The 1959-60 Coyote cagers compiled a fantastic statistical record in overpowering 23 'AA' opponents. Offensively, the Pack scored an average of 74 points per game on the basis of a 40.3 % field goal average and a 63.4% free throw average. The tremendous height advantage enjoyed by the Coyotes showed up in the team rebounding with a tremendous 50 rebounds per game. On defense, the Phoenix Union quintet allowed only 43 points per game running up a 31 point average winning margin. Individually Gerald Jones led in scoring with a 14.3 points per game average with David Wright close behind with a 13.7 average. Wright led in assists with 87. In rebounding, Troy Collier cleared the boards 293 times with Andrew Stoglin pulling down 261 rebounds.
