To the surprise of almost everyone, Phoenix Union's Track and" Field team established itself as the team to beat for the 1960 state champion-ship even though members of last year's stellar squad were cut to the bone by graduation. Coach Dick Fuenning, coming up with some outstanding young sprinters, James Hall, a freshman surprise and Ron Phil-lips, a physical education sprint-er heretofore, watched his team sweep past all competitors in the early going. |
